Two years ago, the world of Pretty Little Liars was briefly introduced to Zack (recurring guest star Steve Talley), who ended up romancing Aria’s (series lead Lucy Hale) recently divorced mom Ella (Holly Marie Combs) and is now her newly branded fiancé.
All seemed great in Ella and Zack’s world as Ella – after getting approval from her daughter – took off for a trip to Europe with her hot, younger lover, eventually coming back to Rosewood to once again seek another approval from her daughter: this time to get engaged to Zack
Zack has only appeared in about a handful of episodes since 2012 and each time he graced the screen he seemed like the a-typical nice guy; but that changed, rather abruptly, in this week’s episode when he seemingly hit on Hanna (series lead Ashley Benson), who has been sporting a new look for much of the show’s current fifth season.
Whether Zack is really a creep in disguise, which would have so many uncomfortable possible ramifications in the near future for not only the Liars but also Ella, or is just being misunderstood by a very confused Hanna – after all she is going through an identity crisis, is drinking far too much and is reuniting with her former boyfriend Caleb (series regular Tyler Blackburn) – the creep factor of that episode (in addition to EVERYTHING else that goes on in the lives of the Rosewood Liars) has just gone up a notch.
For the sake of all the girls in that town let’s hope that Hanna’s current inebriated condition is the real reason for Zack’s creep-like fascination with her because the flipside of his advances are just, well, creepy.
What do you fans think? Is Zack really a creep in disguise or is Hanna simply misreading him because of her latest state of mind? Please share your comments below.
The next new episode of the fifth season of ‘Pretty Little Liars’ will air on ABC Family on Tuesday, August 5 at 8/7c.
