Rookie Blue Season 5 Episode 7 Deal with the Devil (6)

This week’s episode of Rookie Blue was dominated by a fire bomber, a random thumb, cannolis vs. cannelloni, Missy and Duncan’s hearing and Chris’s drug addiction. We all knew this day was going to come for both Missy and Chris, but so soon?

Oliver was completely unaware of just how bad Duncan was after Andy hid most of the rookie’s inadequacies. Unfortunately she waited until now to tell the truth about her training with Duncan which makes them both sweat prior to the hearing. Things only get worse when the precinct smells of trash, Duncan gets a fantastic lawyer and Missy meets the man who doesn’t remember her, but is there to defend her. Duncan is pretty aggressive, a surprise considering how much of a coward he was during the better part of his training. The whole mess leaves Andy’s job in jeopardy until Oliver looks to make a deal with the inspector (devil) which would allow Duncan back on the force.

While all of this drama is going on Gail ends up babysitting Oliver’s daughter while trying to reach out to Holly. Gail finds out however, that Holly has moved on. You actually feel bad for Gail and even more so when she loses Oliver’s daughter.

Meanwhile, Dov is equally devastated when he finally discovers what Chris has floating around in his car. It’s a bit unbelievable that a cop would have something illegal like this just sitting in his car, but he seems like a junkie so it’s plausible. When Dov confronts him Chris knows he has done wrong, telling him to mind his own business. Dov reminding he that he is a cop ends their confrontation quickly.

The episode ends with Sam and Andy talking about Oliver and the Duncan situation. It’s hard to feel bad for her when Oliver so clearly stuck his neck out on the line. What do you think? Leave your comments below.
